Hawaii, hands down, was one of my favorite destinations! While I was there, I visited the islands of Oahu, Maui, Kaua’i and the big island of Hawai’i. Honolulu, which is located on the third largest island, Oahu, is a tourist-heavy city filled with gorgeous views and exciting things to do. One of the best experiences I had while in Honolulu was surfing. Waikiki Beach was where I took surfing lessons. I highly recommend lessons if you’ve never surfed before. My lessons were through the Sheraton Waikiki and I chose to do the one-on-one session which allowed for an hour of non-stop surfing and great pictures. Let me tell you, surfing is hard work but when I finally stood up it was incredible!!
The island of Maui was beautiful. The black sand beaches were breathtaking. I only stayed a short while on the island, but I was happy I made it to Maui’s famous black sand beach, Honokalani.
Everywhere you go in Hawaii, you’ll find lush tropical gardens filled with exotic, fragrant flowers. The plumeria, one of my favorite Hawaiian flowers, blooms in rich vibrant colors all over the island.
